How to reach us by train

Southwest Trains services run between London Waterloo and Teddington. Times vary by season (different Aut/Win and Spr/Sum timetables operate), so always check the relevant timetables before you set out on your journey.

• Trains run between London Waterloo mainline station (overland rail) and Teddington approximately every quarter of an hour during peak hours and every half an hour at other times.
• Trains may arrive at or leave Teddington from either platform 1 or 2.
• The IDM is a three-minute walk from Teddington station.
• Leave the station through the main ticket office, bear right out of the ticket office door and walk to the end of the road in front of you. Turn right into Park Road and walk up towards the very slight slope. The IDM is the last building on the right before the mini-roundabout at the top of the slope.

How to reach us by car

Teddington lies just outside Greater London, on its south-western outskirts. Lying between Twickenham, Hampton and Kingston, Teddington is easily reached from the major M4, M3 and M25 arteries.

From the M4 (allow 30 minutes to the IDM)

• Leave the M4 at junction 3 (signposted Feltham), and at the roundabout take the A312 to Heathrow, Feltham and Central London. Follow this road for about 1.5 miles.
• At the Waggoners roundabout, take the second exit.
• Follow the A312 for about 4 miles (over a railway bridge, past The Airman pub, Feltham Airparcs, Hanworth Library, all on the right, and Hampton Farm Industrial Estate on the left).
• At the roundabout, junction A305/A316, take the third exit.
• Go through two sets of traffic lights and turn left at the next mini-roundabout, onto Park Road in Hampton Hill (signposted Teddington, A313).
• Go through a set of traffic lights at the crossroads further along the road, then continue onto Broad Street through another set of traffic lights.
• Go through two further sets of lights (the second set is by Barclays Bank).
• At the top of the hill, turn right at the mini-roundabout (signposted Hampton Wick), and the IDM is the red-brick building first on the left (1 Park Road, Teddington).

From the M25 (allow 30 minutes to the IDM)

• Leave the M25 at junction 12 and take the M3 (signposted Sunbury).
• The M3 becomes the A316. Leave the A316 at the first roundabout, taking the third exit.
• Go through three sets of traffic lights and follow the road for about 1.5 miles until arriving at a T-junction. Turn left at the traffic lights into Broad Street.
• Go through two further sets of lights (the second set is by Barclays Bank).
• At the top of the hill, turn right at the mini-roundabout (signposted Hampton Wick), and the IDM is the red-brick building first on the left (1 Park Road, Teddington).

From Heathrow Airport (allow 40 minutes to the IDM)

• From the airport, take the M4 (junction 4), travelling east towards London. Leave the M4 at junction 3. Now follow the directions from the M4.

Parking

We regret that we are unable to offer parking spaces at the IDM offices. There are limited spaces available in nearby residential roads, however some surrounding streets operate under controlled parking between 08.30-10.30am. See map for details.
