IDM advisory councils: representing the marketing profession and guiding the IDM

IDM advisory councils represent the skills and development needs of the marketing profession

The IDM manages a series of leadership and practice councils. Each comprises recognised subject matter experts in the appropriate fields of expertise. Council members are drawn from client and services organisations.

The IDM's advisory councils guide the Institute on strategic and operational aspects of its professional development and education programmes for marketing practitioners. IDM councils are:

  • Council of Management
  • Training Council
  • Integrated Marketing Communications Council
  • Digital Marketing Council
  • Data and Database Marketing Council
  • Business-to-Business Marketing Council
  • Marketing Education Council

Council members are full-time practitioners. They are acutely aware of current trends and anticipated developments in their particular fields of expertise. They understand the problems faced by marketers in getting to grips with their specialisation. They know the pitfalls, the success stories and, most importantly, the knowledge and skills today's marketers need to maximise return on marketing investment.

Together, they provide an important sounding board for IDM policy and initiatives, and ensure the Institute stays in tune with its membership.
