IDM Advanced Educators’ Day draws record attendance
Released 08 May 2002: The annual IDM Advanced Educators’ Day drew a record attendance this year of 87 lecturers, representing 58 universities and business schools and an estimated 12,000 direct marketing students.
The event, Successful Integrated Marketing, was run in Manchester and London, and featured industry spokespeople including Danny Meadows-Klue, Chairman of the IAB, Chris Barraclough, Chairman of Proximity London, and Dara O’Malley, Head of Brochures and Media, Littlewoods.
This year’s event addressed issues including media-neutral planning, advanced data mining and multichannel retailing. Director of Graduate Services at the IDM, Kate Wilkinson, said, “We were thrilled with the turnout this year and, as ever, are indebted to those practitioners who gave their time to share their knowledge and experience with direct marketing educators.”
Each year the IDM hosts the Advanced Educators’ Institute to help update lecturers on current case studies, best direct marketing practice and future trends. The IDM supports educators year-round by providing them with the Royal Mail-funded IDM education modules and free places on IDM professional short courses. All activity forms part of a wider initiative, more details of which will be available later in the year.
