IDM and Phoenix Network form strategic alliance
Released 19 January 2001: The Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM) and Phoenix Network have announced a strategic relationship for the benefit of their members. The IDM has a membership of more than 5,500 direct marketers and Phoenix Network has more than 400 female members, all working in the e-commerce field.
The agreement means preferential rates and treatment for each organisation's members when making use of the other's products and services. Longer term, co-branded events are planned. The partnership also paves the way for similar alliances in the future between the IDM and other suitable organisations.
Managing Director of the IDM, Professor Derek Holder, says, "The IDM's growing commitment to all things 'e' and Phoenix Network's non-profit-making status mean that there is already synergy between the two groups. This partnership enables each to continue growing independently while benefiting from the many initiatives undertaken by the other. We are delighted with the alliance because it introduces even more e-commerce professionals to the IDM."
Phoenix Network founder, Jenny Nabben, adds, "For us this partnership means access to the best direct marketing training and networking organisation in Europe. We can now offer our members the widest ranges of established training and developmentāsomething which it would have taken a long time to develop had we done so alone. A perfect complement to the regular events we host each month."
With immediate effect, the partnership means preferential prices on IDM events and courses for Phoenix Network members and preferential prices on Phoenix Network events for IDM members. The forthcoming IDM/Royal Mail Symposium in May will be the first major IDM event to be offered to Phoenix Network members at a discounted price.
