IDM appoints Simon Hall F IDM as Chairman
Released 10 February 2003: 10 February 2003: The IDM today announced it has appointed Simon Hall F IDM, Chief Executive of Proximity London as the new Chairman of the IDM, replacing David Payne who has become Chairman of the Trustees of the IDM.
The appointment signals a new direction for the IDM as it continues to expand its professional development and training in the UK and overseas. The two-year appointment coincides with the IDM's re-constitution of its Council of Management, a board consisting of senior marketing professionals who are being enlisted to help implement the strategic plan of the IDM.
Commenting on his new role, Simon Hall says, "The IDM is something our profession is rightly proud about. In these harsh economic times, it is even more important for businesses in the UK that the IDM continues to set new standards. But we need to recognise that the IDM needs our support to ensure it remains the number one source of knowledge and training. I hope I can help act as a bridge between the changing needs of our industry and the ongoing development of the Institute."
Professor Derek Holder, Managing Director of the IDM adds, "The key to the IDM's on-going success is its ability to evolve and change to meet new marketing conditions. Which is why the next five years will see some major changes in how the IDM operates. We are bringing together the best in the business to help drive the new IDM strategy. Having Simon as our Chairman as we begin that process is an excellent start."
The appointment takes effect immediately. Simon's first official engagement as Chairman will be at the IDM Annual Lecture on March 18 2003.
