IDM awards its highest honour to four top marketers
Released 27 February 2006: The IDM awarded four new Honorary Life Fellowships and bestowed two Educator of the Year Awards at its Annual Lunch on Friday. An Honorary Fellowship is the Institute’s highest honour, reserved for those luminaries who continue to demonstrate an outstanding contribution to the direct, data and digital marketing profession.
This year’s Honorary Fellows received their awards from Annual Lunch speaker, Sir Keith Mills. They are:
Huw Davis, European Managing Director, EHS Brann Discovery
Danny Meadows-Klue, Chief Executive, Digital Strategy Consulting Ltd and Chief Executive, Interactive Advertising Bureau Europe
Stewart Pearson, Global Client Director – CRM, Young & Rubicam Brands
Shane Redding, Director, Think Direct and chair of the IDM Business to Business Council.
An Honorary Fellow of the IDM can be defined as an individual who has given exceptional service, either to the direct, data and digital marketing profession as a whole, or to the Institute's educational mission in particular. The award is the Institute's way of recognising this endeavour and achievement on behalf of the marketing community. A number of Honorary Life Fellowships are awarded each year at the IDM Annual Lunch, following a rigorous nomination and voting process.
In addition to the Fellowships, the 2006 IDM Educator of the Year was also announced. Unusually, there were two recipients this year: Matt Housden of the University of Greenwich and Lesley Tadgell-Foster, legal consultant and Managing Director of Shelf-line Promotional Consultancy.
The IDM Educator of the Year Award is given for outstanding contribution to furthering direct, data and digital marketing education throughout the UK. Those who win the award will be outstanding tutors who have given exceptional personal commitment to serving the cause of the IDM’s educational activities.
