The five courses are: Search Engine Optimisation; Pay Per Click Advertising; The Law of Direct, Data and Digital; Writing for Digital Media and Measuring and Optimising Your E-Marketing Effectiveness. The move effectively increases the digital share of the IDM’s training portfolio to 25% and follows the launch of the Institute’s two new digital qualifications in May: the IDM Diploma in Digital Marketing and the IDM Certificate in Digital Marketing, both of which are supported by Google.

The new digital courses have been introduced to help plug the skills gap caused by the continued growth of digital marketing. They were conceived and developed, following a feasibility study, by an IDM Editorial Board and will be delivered, as is IDM policy, by tutors who are experienced, practising digital marketers. There has also been a direct demand for more digital courses from IDM delegates.

IDM Programme Director, Joanna King says: "This sector has seen a prodigious rate of growth which market reports confirm as set to continue. Marketers simply cannot ignore digital. Today’s customers are new media-savvy, quick to adopt and exploit the opportunities presented by new technology. Marketers need to make sure they acquire the skills and the knowledge to keep up."

The first of the courses, Writing for Digital Media, takes place on 21 September. More details on this and all IDM courses can be found at www.theidm.com/marketing-training/.
