IDM digital marketing qualifications now available online
Released 14 September 2005: From October the recently launched IDM Diploma in Digital Marketing and IDM Certificate in Digital Marketing will be available for online study – in addition to traditional classroom study options.
The online courses will enable students to manage the pace of their studies which can now be undertaken wherever students have access to the Internet, at any time of day and for whatever period of time available to them – making it possible to study over the desktop at work during the lunch break, or at home in the evening or on weekends.
Neil Morris, the IDM’s Deputy Managing Director, says: "These new digital marketing qualifications are the first in the UK to address the growing skills shortage in digital marketing. Digital marketing is the future and all marketers need to be equipped with the necessary skills and techniques. For the time-pressured modern marketer, online study is the perfect option and one the IDM is embracing as a major delivery channel for its educational programmes".
From home, the workplace, on the move or overseas, the online courseware will direct students through a carefully sequenced programme of learning outcomes. Self-assessment tests are built-in and an online learning account keeps track of progress, right through to the final examination. Students will have access to support from a personal tutor who, uniquely amongst training organisations, is an experienced and practising digital marketer. Discussion forums allow ideas and experiences to be shared with fellow students.
The launch of an online study facility is the latest of several developments in the digital arena from the IDM in 2005. The two digital qualifications were launched in May, while the digital training course portfolio was recently trebled for the autumn.
