Advisor to leading brands such as BBC Worldwide, Air Miles, HSBC, Queens Moat House Hotels, MBNA and The Central Office of Information, Owen is also an acclaimed and sought-after speaker on the world’s conference circuit. At each day-long seminar, he promises a wealth of examples of good, bad, unusual and even legendary copy and will cover:

  • Envelopes, response forms and reply devices
  • Promotional postcards
  • Guarantees and testimonials
  • Typography
  • Testing
  • Direct response advertising
  • Online and digital marketing
  • Harnessing the power of copy

IDM Programme Director, Joanna King comments: “We’re thrilled that such an accomplished copywriting expert and gifted speaker has joined our Guru roster. The fact that Andy has also agreed to take the series on tour means that those who would otherwise find it difficult to get to a London venue have the opportunity to benefit from his experience first-hand.”

Amongst Andy’s supporters is Drayton Bird, who says: "A good man to have on your side. In a business increasingly driven by jargon and waffle, few people understand how to SELL. And if you don't, you're lost. Andy knows how it's done. And he has another priceless quality. He cares. It's hard to put a value on that."

Roadshow dates are as follows:

30 January – Birmingham
31 January – Manchester
7 February – Newcastle
8 February - Glasgow

The IDM Guru series was launched in May 2005 as a result of direct feedback from IDM members. Previous Gurus have included Drayton Bird, Don Peppers, Sean Kelly and Professor Robert Blattberg.
