IDM hosts an evening with industry legend Jeremy Bullmore CBE
Released 02 May 2006: On Tuesday 9 May the IDM will present an evening with Jeremy Bullmore as part of its ongoing programme of member events. Deservedly known as one of the finest communicators in the advertising business, Bullmore will dispense on-the-spot advice and guidance to questions from the floor, and promises to reveal unique insights into his art in an inimitable blend of wit and wisdom.
A regular columnist for Campaign, Management Today, Market Leader and the Guardian, Bullmore has received both the London Publicity Club's Cup and the Design and Art Directors' Association President's Award for outstanding contributions to advertising. He is also an acclaimed author, having published "Another Bad Day at the Office?" and, most recently, "Apples, Insights and Mad Inventors: An Entertaining Analysis of Modern Marketing". His name inspires eulogies from every corner of the marketing profession:
"Bullmore, whether he likes it or not, is our industry’s oracle."
Simon Marquis, chairman, ZenithOptimedia UK Group
"Jeremy Bullmore is famous for his insights on advertising. He is equally depressingly insightful on branding. In both these areas he has forgotten more than many people know."
Keith Weed, chairman of Lever Fabergé and president of the Marketing Society
"Jeremy Bullmore has been there, done that and seen through it all. His columns deliver wisdom with a great wit."
Ed Meyer, chairman and chief executive, Grey Global Group
"Jeremy Bullmore remains the one person in British advertising for whom the brilliance to bullshit ratio is 100:0."
Nigel Bogle, Bartle Bogle Hegarty
"It is unfair that one man should have so much wisdom and be able to express it so beautifully and entertainingly."
Campaign
"Jeremy Bullmore is a national treasure"
Financial Times
The IDM's Membership Director, Caroline Robertson says "We're absolutely thrilled to welcome such an influential industry figure to our events programme. What delegates will hear will be totally original; they will come away challenged, inspired and thoroughly entertained."
The event is likely to throw up some of the perennial problems from Bullmore's agony columns, where his advice has been sought on subjects as diverse as: writer's block; bosses who take all the credit; getting the best from your agency and making the transition from merely good to great.
Tickets to the event cost £37.50 to IDM members and £55 to non-members and can be booked by telephone on 020 8614 0277. For more information or to book online, visit www.theidm.com/m102.
