IDM Membership Director Adrian Innocent comments, "I am sure this event will be a great success. The theme and venue are bound to attract existing direct marketing practitioners as well as non-practitioners who are interested in the profession and looking for a way in."

Chairman of the North West Board, Nick Backhouse of McCann-Erickson, says, "The careers theme was considered one of prime importance by all on the North West Board as it is a perennial issue locally. We intend to establish the North West as a centre of direct marketing excellence, and to achieve that we must first address how to recruit, develop and retain excellent staff."

This announcement follows the June launch of an IDM network of seven boards, which are at various stages of development, and this event is the first to be confirmed. Tickets cost £25 for IDM members and £30 for non-members. To book a place, call Sally Cawthra in the Membership department on +44 (0)20 8614 0275.
