This is not the IDM's first foray into Europe, but it is the first time IDM materials have been translated into French. As well as delivering tailored in-company training in France, Hungary and Sweden amongst other European countries, the IDM Diploma also enjoys European recognition as a FEDMA accredited course.

The pilot was a translation of an established IDM in-company course. Nicholas Giard Director of MD Lab (direct marketing and e-commerce laboratory) at the Graduate School of Management at ESC Lille, who delivered the course worked closely with the IDM to translate it into French and to incorporate French case studies.

The IDM’s brief was to create and deliver the course on a par with the English original to ensure consistency of marketing training across the Michelin group, which regularly uses the services of IDM In-Company Training.

Peter Snelling, of Michelin Group Training says, "Since the IDM already has the materials to deliver effective direct and interactive marketing training, we thought better of reinventing the wheel. By translating the syllabus and compounding it with local examples of direct marketing in practise we came up with a winning course."

The twelve Michelin delegates came from across Europe to attend the three-day pilot course.

The IDM and ESC Lille are now in discussions for additional future joint initiatives.
