The original Absolute Essentials course was one of the IDM’s longest running and has given over 14,000 marketers a comprehensive introduction to the profession. Today’s course has been updated to reflect the changing marketing landscape and unites the principles of direct marketing with the latest digital media and techniques. The result is a seminar programme that delivers a comprehensive understanding of how modern, integrated direct marketing works in the real world. The new course is to run in March at three city centre locations: London, Leeds and Bristol, with further venues to be scheduled for May.

IDM Programme Director Joanna King comments: "Marketers who are serious about their careers are always looking to update their knowledge and skills, and that applies wherever they are based. We appreciate it’s not always convenient for delegates to travel to our South West London training suites, so, with the launch of the new Absolute Essentials course, we’re taking the training to the customer. We’d like to extend our thanks to our sponsor, Pitney Bowes, for making this possible."

The Absolute Essentials of Direct and Digital Marketing is intended for those who are new to the profession, or, equally, it will benefit those who wish to extend their existing off-line marketing knowledge in order to plan, execute and integrate online marketing. The full course programme can be found at www.theidm.com/aer.

The course, content, quality and delivery will remain the same at each venue. As with all IDM training output, the course will be delivered by senior, highly experienced and active marketing practitioners. Tutors for the new Absolute Essentials course include: Steve Walpole M IDM, Executive Creative Director, Clark McKay and Walpole; Joanna Reynolds Hon F IDM, ReynoldsBusbyLee; Ewan Carpenter, Head of Digital, Hall Moore CHI and Professor Derek Holder F IDM, Founder and Managing Director of the IDM.

The Absolute Essentials of Direct and Digital Marketing is the second IDM course to tour the country in 2007. Currently on tour is a creativity workshop, part of the Institute’s Guru series, with copywriter Andy Owen.
