IDM Student Competition winners announced
Released 15 July 2002: The winners of the 2002 IDM Student Competition, sponsored this year by Orange and Draft Worldwide London (formerly Lowe Live), are the University of Bath (postgraduate gold) and Huddersfield University (undergraduate gold).
IDM Student Competition winners announced The winners of the 2002 IDM Student Competition, sponsored this year by Orange and Draft Worldwide London (formerly Lowe Live), are the University of Bath (postgraduate gold) and Huddersfield University (undergraduate gold).The two silver prizes went to teams from the University of Westminster and University of Bath respectively. Additionally a merit prize for creativity was awarded to an undergraduate team from Huddersfield.
In all 50 universities took part in the competition, with 130 teams entering in total. All teams were set the same challenge—to devise a new direct marketing strategy for Orange’s range of text and voice message alert services and games.
The winning students received a collection of prizes including cash and a trophy. Agnes Nairn, the lecturer for the winning Bath team and Tony Aldred M IDM, the lecturer for the winning Huddersfield team each receive an expenses-paid trip to the US DMA Conference in San Francisco in October.
Next year’s competition will be sponsored by Centrica and agency EHS Brann. Full details will be announced in September.
