IDM's new and exclusive training for agencies endorsed by IPA
Released 08 July 2003: Further to the IDM's latest agency training research - which revealed the agency is the DM community most in need of training - the IDM is to launch its first two agency-only courses - "Best Practice in Today's Agencies" and "Excellence in Account Handling". Both courses are endorsed by the IPA and will initially run in Central London in September before going regional.
"Best Practice in Today's Agencies" is a series of ten inspirational evening lectures given by leading agency practitioners. It will teach junior staff how agencies work, what it takes to build relationships with clients and how to produce successful campaigns. The course culminates in a real life agency pitch from student teams.
"Excellence in Account Handling" is for Account Executives and Managers and provides best practice teaching in all the principle areas that relate to their job performance. Built as a six-day modular series spread over six weeks, it aims to improve on account handlers' performance by at least 30 per cent. Following a multiple-choice test those who pass will be awarded the IDM Certificate of Competence in Account Handling.
Professor Derek Holder, Managing Director of the IDM, explains "We provide best practice training opportunities to clients, agencies and suppliers alike. However, these two courses address specific agency skills. We will be following up with middle and senior agency training courses to complete the training ladder."
