Leading marketers contribute to new IDM B2B Customer 2.0 playbook
Released 27 October 2011: The Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing’s B2B Council has launched the first in a series of substantial new content pieces featuring contributions from some of B2B’s leading UK experts.
The IDM B2B Customer 2.0 playbook, produced in conjunction with digital agency, Hurricane, was inspired by the themes, reactions and opinions emanating from the 2011 IDM B2B Conference, Understanding and Engaging Customer 2.0. and features commentary, blogs, video, research, presentations and expert comment.
IDM PR & Communications Manager, Juliet Hilditch, says
“The Customer 2.0 theme struck such a chord with B2B marketers this year that it inspired a wealth of commentary and content from some of the most senior B2B practitioners in the country. It made perfect sense to pull it all together in one place and produce this easy-to-digest, yet comprehensive guide to today’s demanding B2B buyer.”
IDM B2B Council member and Playbook contributor, Chris Wilson, Chair of the Association of Business to Business Agencies and MD at Earnest, adds:
“When deciding the themes for the 2011 conference, the IDM B2B Council were unanimous in the view that, although it’s clear that the way that business-to-business customers research, select and buy has fundamentally changed, how many of us really understand how to change the way we, as marketer, respond? The Customer 2.0 playbook not only gives insights into buyers today, but gives useful pointers towards communicating with them both now and in the future – invaluable as we begin to develop the themes for next year’s conference.”
The B2B Customer 2.0 playbook forms part of the IDM B2B Council’s ongoing programme of outputs designed to help educate and inspire B2B marketers across the profession. It is freely available to download now.
The IDM B2B Marketing Council aims to raise the profile of B2B marketing, share best practice techniques and give the discipline increased recognition. Council members are senior B2B marketers from both agency and client organisations including IBM, Reed Business Information, American Express, Pitney Bowes and Google.
