Mitchell, Lacki and Howard join IDM Journal's Editorial Board
Released 25 November 2003: Alan Mitchell, author and co-founder of the Buyer Centric Commerce Forum, Dr Thomas Lacki, global head of knowledge management and thought leadership for Carlson Marketing Group and Melanie Howard, co-founder and director of The Future Foundation have been appointed to the Editorial Board of Interactive Marketing, the learned journal of the IDM, published by Henry Stewart.
Mitchell, Lacki and Howard are the latest additions to the Journal's board which now boasts 33 of the world's best marketing brains including Dr Susan Baker, Senior Lecturer in Marketing, Cranfield School of Management, UK, Professor Don E. Schultz, Professor Emeritus-in-Service, Northwestern University, USA and Dr Christoph Wargitsch, Head of CRM, Audi AG, Germany
As Editorial Board members each will guide the Journal by:
- refereeing articles which fall within their area of expertise
- advising the IDM of possible contributors and topics for publication
- preparing the occasional article.
Caroline Robertson, Membership Director of the IDM says, "We are delighted that this two leading marketers have joined the Editorial Board. With their input I have no doubt that the excellent quality of content as well as the variety of subject matter will continue to grow. I am sure each one will make a valuable and unique contribution."
The appointments begin with immediate effect, and the next edition of Interactive Marketing is out in January 2004.

Alan Mitchell
Alan is author of The New Bottom Line* and Right Side Up, a contributor to Beyond Branding, and is a founder member of the Buyer Centric Commerce Forum. He is also author of the Financial Times report 'Brand Strategies in the Information Age'.
A former Editor of Marketing magazine and marketing correspondent of The Times and now a columnist with a range of publications such as Marketing Week, Precision Marketing,New Media Age, and Brand Strategy, Alan has tracked developments in marketing and branding for the last few decades. Alan also serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Brand Management .

Dr Thomas Lacki
Dr Lacki heads up knowledge management and thought leadership globally for Carlson Marketing Group, the world's leading relationship marketing agency.
The knowledge gained through earning a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology, research methodology, and statistics - together with over fifteen years of marketing experience - is used by Tom in creating higher value solutions through best thinking for the clients of Carlson Marketing Group.
Tom shares his insights with conference audiences throughout the world, counsels students pursuing advanced degrees in relationship marketing, serves on the advisory committee for the National Center for Database Marketing, and is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Marketing Association, and a voting member of the Direct Marketing Association.
Melanie Howard
Melanie co-founded the Future Foundation in 1996 with Michael Willmott. Since then she has pursued a wide range of research interests including: Exploring the nature of communications in the network society with 24 Hour Society, an assessment of how technology affects the quality of life for BT and promoting the concept of corporate social responsibility with The Responsible Organisation.
Formerly a direct marketer, she became head of IT and Media consulting at the Henley Centre where she was responsible for Teleculture 2000 (recently described by the FT as 'seminal'), Dataculture and The Loyalty Paradox before setting up the Future Foundation.
Melanie advises the DMA on research issues, sits on the Information Tribunal for the Lord Chancellor's Department and is an associate of Demos and the Bristol Business School. She sits on the BT Social Policy advisory panel, works with Helen Hamlyn Associates at the Royal College of Art to bring social understanding to design and is a member of the IDM Council of Management. She is a frequent platform speaker and provider of media comment having spoken this year on topics as diverse as: prospects for women in 21st century; the future of 3G; the role of local media and the future of food as well as the consumer need for financial services in Europe.
