This year Royal Mail has donated £104,000 for the programme which includes the IDM Education modules, the student website think-direct.com, the annual national student direct marketing competition, the IDM Graduate Fast Track programme and free training for UK academics.

The donation makes Royal Mail the biggest supporter of the IDM Education programme and demonstrates its commitment to the promotion and development of the direct marketing profession.

Richard Roche, Head of Business Development at Royal Mail explains, "We see this contribution as a genuine investment in a burgeoning profession, and one which will pay dividends for Royal Mail and the direct marketing industry at large. The IDM Education Programme is key to attracting graduates to a career in direct marketing as well as preparing them for it and we are delighted to play a significant part in that process."

The donation continues Royal Mail's tradition of supporting the IDM's education mission which dates back to 1982. IDM Education Programme itself launched in 1984 and Royal Mail has made a significant contribution to it every year.

Kate Wilkinson, Director of Graduate Services at The IDM says, "Year on year the IDM Edcuation programme has grown as a consequence of its success. The more awareness we create about the discipline in the education community, the greater the appetite for it. Without Royal Mail's funding we simply could not meet the demand we have created and so we are incredibly grateful for their continued support."

The IDM Education Programme creates a healthy flow of good quality graduates into the direct marketing profession. Its primary aim is to ensure that the marketing managers of the future understand the importance of direct marketing in business. To find out more visit (URL).
