Melanie Howard M IDM, co-founder and director of the consumer think-tank The Future Foundation, which undertook the study, will present key findings to local business people and academics.

The research, published under the heading "Complicated Lives" has already received high acclaim.

Alan McWalter, former Group Marketing Director, Marks & Spencer says, "For anyone interested in today's society this is a must read. A brilliant book which brings empirical understanding to our complex lifestyles."

Howard will present the conclusions of the research and lead discussions with delegates on how businesses can better understand the future needs of customers.

Melanie promises attendees that they will discover how insights into social change can be applied to improving your business and marketing strategies over the coming decade and how your future success could depend on understanding the direction in which your customers’ lives are heading.

The presentation of Complicated Lives takes place on 26 November at UWE, Bristol between 18:30 and 21:00. Tickets cost £30 for IDM Members and £35 for non-members (exclusive of VAT). To book visit www.theidm.com, email membership@theidm.com or call 020 8614 0275.
