Top brands join IDM B2B Marketing Council

Released 27 January 2010: Three senior marketers from Google, Vodafone Global Enterprise and Salesforce.com have joined the Institute of Direct Marketing’s Business to Business Marketing Council, which continues its work into 2010 to raise the profile of B2B marketing as a distinct discipline.

Richard Robinson, Head of Business Markets, Google, Deane McIntyre M IDM, Head of Campaigns and Online, Vodafone Global Enterprise and Lisa Hutt M IDM, EMEA Programs Director at Salesforce.com join the IDM B2B Council with immediate effect and will be assisting the Council in all aspects of its mission (see below).

IDM B2B Marketing Council Chair, Debbie Williams M IDM, says of the new appointments:

The Council continues to grow from strength to strength, with initiatives such as the B2B Barometer survey, the annual IDM B2B Marketing Conference, the IDM’s B2B Marketing Qualifications, B2B networking evenings and great best practice content. The B2B Barometer benchmark survey, amongst B2B client practitioners and agencies, reveals the current state of the UK B2B market and provides a factual marketing perspective on how B2B companies have been behaving in the recession and how they plan to move forward.

The Council produces an ongoing series of outputs (white papers, reviews, press articles) to share and promote best practice B2B marketing and regularly advise the Institute on its B2B training and qualifications portfolio. The Council’s next initiative will be the 7th Annual IDM Business to Business Marketing Conference, which is scheduled for 19 May 2010 in central London.

The IDM's advisory councils guide the Institute on strategic and operational aspects of its professional development and education programmes for marketing practitioners. The mission of the IDM B2B Marketing Council is to push back frontiers of knowledge within B2B, give it an infrastructure of learning, and opportunities to share best practices.
