IDM Student Marketing Competition 2014
The IDM’s student competition brief for 2014 is now live. Students work in teams of 3 to 6 to produce a marketing strategy for Gap 360, an exciting travel company offering an amazing range of affordable gap year adventures. Solutions will be judged by professionals culminating in a pitch to the client hosted by Google at their London offices in June 2014.
About the IDM Student Marketing Competition
The IDM Student Competition is now in its 17th year. It provides great experience for students and a real taste of what it’s like to create a solution for a client. It’s also a valuable addition to any course that teaches marketing.
The brief, provided by the sponsors, is a well-researched assignment. It covers all aspects of the direct, data and digital marketing disciplines, and involves the integration of these with wider elements of the marketing mix. As well as forming the basis for the Competition, it can be used as a valuable teaching aid in course modules such as Direct Marketing, Relationship Marketing, Marketing Communications and Digital Marketing. The three highest scoring entries from the industry judging get the fantastic opportunity to present their ideas straight to the client in a pitch to Gap 360, Google and the IDM at Google Head Office in London. All finalists will attend a prize giving at our annual industry event at ‘The Goring’ in London on the 26 June 2014.
All members of the winning team will receive a Chromebook and £250 off a Gap 360 trip of their choice. The supervisor of the winning team will win a year’s tailored training package from the IDM for their faculty.
The Competition is open to all full time UK marketing and business degree students. Teams should have between 3 and 6 members and need to be supervised by a lecturer at college or university.
