The last 5-10 years have changed the B2B landscape dramatically. New media, new markets, new channels, even new customers, have created a highly developed £10billion market that requires a sophisticated marketing approach.
Join us at a fascinating FREE member event on 22 May when Mike Dodds, Managing Director of OgilvyOne London and Managing Partner of Ogilvy Group UK, will take us through some of the recent fundamental shifts in B2B marketing. In particular, he puts channel partnerships under the microscope, explaining why they're increasingly important to a successful B2B marketing strategy.
Mike led the Ogilvy team that pitched and won BT's Consumer Direct Marketing business and has been closely involved ever since in the development of new segmentations for both BT Business and Consumer.
He is, then, sure to have strong views on both the challenges and opportunities presented by the fast-changing B2B space. Don't miss this chance to learn from his first-hand knowledge, to question him direct and to share experiences with your peers.
Mike Dodds, Managing Director, OgilvyOne London and Managing Partner, Ogilvy Group UK. Mike began his career as a marketing trainee at US telecoms giant GTE almost 20 years ago. He moved over to the agency side after a couple of years and has stayed there ever since. During this time he has worked for three agency groups – DMB&B, BBH and Ogilvy – always specialising in the Direct Marketing discipline.
While on the agency side he has been fortunate to have responsibility for some of the best known brands around. In technology he cut his teeth working on DEC and also ran the Apple and Sony relationship at BBH. He has also run relationships for significant UK brands like Royal Mail and British Gas.
Five years ago Mike returned to his telecoms roots when he led the Ogilvy team that pitched and won BT’s Consumer Direct Marketing business. Since then the relationship has grown and now encompasses BT Business and Major Business. It has been one of the most exciting periods of his career. He has been closely involved in the development of new segmentations for both BT Business and Consumer, however is probably most proud of being part of the team that brought BT Broadband to market and ultimately helped realise the vision of “Broadband Briton” with total connections reaching 10.3m last year.
Away from work, he is married with 3 children aged 4, 11 and 15. Luckily his 15 year old just about keeps him up to date with the latest mobile applications!
Mike will be joined by one of OgilvyOne’s clients to present an in-depth client case study.
All delegates will receive an attendee list as part of their ticket purchase to help them network more effectively. In the meantime, here is a sample of the companies already booked to attend.
