Event overview
There’s more customer information in your customers’ heads than you’ll ever be able to gather in a traditional CRM database. New technologies now mean that customers can share this information with you – but only if they want to. If you want to build better, closer, more profitable customer relationships than your competitors, you need to understand the opportunities opened up by Volunteered Personal Information.
On 28 January 2010, data researcher and business writer, Alan Mitchell explains why handing your customers control of their own data is not a threat. But, by re-writing the ‘data contract’ between individuals and organisations it signals a new direction in customer relationships, bringing with it greater relevance, lower costs, improved ROI and increased competitiveness.
VPI is information only the customer knows and which therefore only the customer can share. It may include their changing personal circumstances, interests, product preferences, or their plans and intentions. New technologies are making it possible for customers to share this information whilst keeping it under their own control.
Alan Mitchell and co-speaker, William Heath will explain why VPI represents the next wave of Internet innovation. Together, they will:
- explain the 'tipping points' behind the rise of VPI
- assess the potential value of VPI to organisations
- describe how VPI can support CRM
- reveal how VPI improves data accuracy, reduces risk and improves ROI
- identify new product and service opportunities
- build a business case for VPI
- show how to create a VPI strategy.
When this event was previewed by an audience of senior professionals, here's what they said:
"Alan Mitchell's master class was extremely thought provoking. It shows that we are now entering another new phase of direct marketing."
