"There are never enough hours in the marketing day. So, the most valuable aspect of the IDM CPD scheme to me is that it provides focus and gives me a very good reason to commit time to studying and improving my knowledge. I have used the opportunity provided by the IDM CPD scheme to both enhance my existing skills and for new learning."
Christopher Smith M IDM
Online Marketing Manager, Autoglass
"It's easy to assume that we will develop and maintain skills in our everyday work. However, intense pressure and focused effort on the task at hand is more likely to limit our appreciation of the wider environment our customers operate in. By entering into a formal CPD programme I find that I set aside time to think about, plan and positively progress my development so adding to my experience and helping me to add value."
Steve Bottomley M IDM
Director of Broadcast Strategy, ITV
"Holding my IDM CPD Award 2009 and continuing to study for my 2010 award enables me to gain two benefits - the CPD awards on my CV show to current and future employers that despite 16 years in the industry I'm still committed to learning and developing within the marketing discipline. And furthermore, studying for my CPD gives me year round structure to my development and coaching activities ensuring I get the best from the limited time I have available to me."
Lisa Rooke Dip DM, F IDM
Head of Relationship Marketing, Avaya UK
"I find the status has helped extensively to establish credentials both with new consultancy clients and with the university faculties I have taught in. The CPD commitment is a great discipline for me, to ensure that I stay up with new concepts and developments."
Michael Collins F IDM
Management Consultant, Database Marketing Counsel
