Help with buying from the IDM

What is 'myIDM'?

This is your shopping basket, online order history and resources library all in one. Here, you can checkout items selected for purchase and review those previously purchased online from this site. If you’ve purchased online resources (such as PDFs) or bookmarked free resources, these are listed here for you to download and revisit at your convenience.

What do the glyphs represent?

 Remove: Click to remove items from your shopping basket or purchase history. If you’re an active user, you’ll find it useful for tidying up your burgeoning list of bookmarked items from time to time!
 Quantity: Change this to amend the number of delegates you wish to book on to a course/event or to purchase additional copies of an item. Click to confirm any changes made.
 Select: Leave ticked those items you wish to check out. Untick items you wish to buy later.
 Download/Open: Click to retrieve/open a downloadable online resources you’ve bookmarked or purchased.
 E-mail: A handy feature enabling you to forward a copy of an online resource to your e-mail account.

How and when is the final price of my order calculated?

Your shopping basket shows only the basic (net) price per unit. The final price will depend on your membership status (IDM members always get the best prices) as well as addition of any applicable VAT, discounts and delivery charges. It will also depend on how many delegate places you are booking for a course or event, and their IDM membership status.

During the checkout process, all such additions and discounts, as well as your chosen payment method, will be confirmed. You will be shown a complete breakdown of costs before being asked to confirm your order and make your payment.

What happens to downloadable resources such as PDF files?

For reasons of copyright and integrity, most resources are provided as PDFs (Portable Document Format files). To view these you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Some PDFs are free while others must be purchased, largely depending on whether you are a member. Please note that any order that includes the purchase of online resources must be paid for online, using a credit or debit card account.

I am not a member of the IDM

IDM members always get the best price as well as exclusive access to many online resources. You can join online today, giving you immediate access to online resources at reduced membership rates.

If you don't wish to join, we would of course still welcome your custom! On completing checkout, you'll be provided with a unique user no. and temporary password, enabling you to review your order and retrieve any purchased online resources. You will automatically be registered, free of charge, as a user of this site, entitling you to access a number of reserved features.

We ask you to review our terms and conditions. These are, unfortunately, rather long due to the diverse nature of the products and services you can purchase through this website. We have endeavoured to keep these as succinct as possible!
