Brian ThomasBrian Thomas Hon F IDM was formerly Managing Director of Ogilvy & Mather Direct and Chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi Direct, author of the Royal Mail Guide to Direct Mail for Small Businesses and the new textbook Direct Marketing in Practice. He is a highly experienced and enthusiastic direct marketing consultant and trainer. Over the course of 30 years in advertising and marketing, he has planned and controlled more than 700 direct marketing campaigns and held senior positions in the likes of ICI and GUS.

Daivd Cheek David Cheek was one of the early movers from a successful career in above-the-line agencies into the direct marketing arena over 20 years ago. He now runs his own Direct and Relationship Marketing consultancy, working with clients and service agencies as varied as Guinness, Unilever, Volvo and Vauxhall to Cornhill Insurance, the Earl Mountbatten Hospice fundraising and EuroDirect. In addition he has been a Senior Consultant and Diploma, Certificate and In-Company tutor for the IDM over the last ten years.

Prior to starting his own consultancy, David was Director of WWAV Rapp Collins, the country’s leading direct marketing agency for over 10 years. His clients included Marks & Spencer FS, Automobile Association FS, Nationwide Building Society, British Airways, Porsche, EMAP magazines, Publishers Clearing House, Somerfield Supermarkets and Cancer Research Campaign.

His areas of specialisation include online data gathering, developing email marketing communication programmes and integrating email marketing with traditional direct marketing channels.

James Matthewson M IDMJames A. Matthewson M IDM has 13 years of digital marketing experience; starting his career building websites in 1995 for brands such as the Royal Albert Hall, Filofax and Corgi Toys. Today, James is a digital marketing consultant working on planning, executing and measuring brand and direct response campaigns for BlackBerry, Cadbury (Trident Gum, Crème Egg and Dairy Milk - the Gorilla), General Motors, GSK, MacMillan Cancer Support, Pedigree, Unilever and many other global brands.

Steve Kemish is your Complete Direct Marketing training course guest speakerSteve Kemish F IDM, Client Service Director at Adestra has over ten years of experience in digital marketing, both client-side and agency. He and his team work with clients to help them realise the potential of digital marketing and to help deliver results.

Passionate about using marketing principles to get the most out of the technology, when not with clients he is to be found speaking on the subject throughout the world on behalf of Adestra and the Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM). Matt HousedenMatthew Housden is a B2B marketing consultant, author, academic and trainer. He has worked in marketing for 20 years, in a range of senior positions.

He is a director of Face Value Consulting and principal lecturer in the marketing group at the University of Greenwich.

Angus JenkinsonAngus Jenkinson is a well respected consultant and a committed passionate speaker with the ability to take complex ideas and make them clear, interesting and accessible. He is Managing Director of Stepping Stones, a quality focused, solutions consultancy. Angus specialises in a total approach to the effective implementation of Database Marketing. This unique approach links marketing ideas to an organisations database and development, leading to improvements in customer service, quality and value customer relationships.
