Creative Data: What's it all about?

The problem we want to solve:

With emerging technology, data pools are increasing at a rate that means as an industry, we're lacking data specialist skills. There are plenty of people out there with this talent, but finding their way into industry can often prove a challenge.

How we're resolving this:

Creative Data acts as a gateway for these individuals to discover the career opportunities available as well as mixing with key industry figures who are able to offer them support and guidance; and it has been known, their first role in industry!
This year we're really pushing the boat out with 3 x 3 day academies and 6 x 1 day laboratories in various locations across the UK, which will enable us to offer over 250 individuals the opportunity to explore the programme.

What/where/when:

3 x 3 day immersive academies

(Birmingham, 26 - 28 March, London, 4-6 April, Edinburgh, 26-28 June)

These 3 days will provide students with a fantastic insight into the roles available in data and marketing. Through talks, workshops, an agency visit and networking event, they'll come away with more confidence about the direction they want to head in as well as making some key connections along the way.

6 x 1 day hackathon labs

(London, Southampton, Bristol, Cardiff, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow), dates TBC.

These laboratories are brand new for 2018 and will follow the format of a hackathon. On the day, attendees will be split into groups where they'll put their skills to the test to tackle a brief set by an exciting brand (TBC). There will also be a talk at the start of the session to give them top industry tips.
