Where can I find information regarding the principles of CPD?

Can I add hours in excess of the maximum hours required for any category?
Yes! Your online CPD account is designed to allow you to record all of your CPD activity in one place and is accessible 24/7. Simply ensure that you have sufficient hours across the IDM categories in each calendar year, and before the close date for that calendar year, in order to be eligible for the IDM CPD Award.
How do I amend a CPD record?
Amends may only be made to records of activity before the closing date for that year (for example, by January 15, 2015 for CPD activities in the year ending 31 December, 2014). Simply go to the “Summary and details” tab, use the delete facility to remove the incorrect record and re-enter your information. NB Records for previous years are now closed.
Can I see my individual records for previous Awards?
Individuals who are currently accredited with CPD Awards will have received written confirmation of their Award and can view permanent confirmation under the CPD Awards tab. Individual record cards for these years have been archived and can be retrieved upon request.
How will I know whether I have been accredited with an Award?
Please keep your correspondence and email address up-to-date as the IDM will alert you to opportunities to gain CPD hours and will prompt you to complete your CPD record during the year.
On the closing date for submissions, your CPD records will be locked and reviewed in order to provide you with your accreditation. You will receive a letter and certificate confirming your achievement within a month of the annual closing date. Where relevant, your honorific will also be added to your entry in the IDM Members’ Directory.
I have joined the IDM as a member part way through this year. May I backdate any CPD activity?
Yes. Upon registering you may claim retrospectively CPD hours from the beginning of the same calendar year, provided you can document the claimed development activities to the satisfaction of the IDM’s CPD adjudicators.
I graduated this year, is my time spent on my qualification eligible for CPD when I register?
If you are a graduate joining the IDM’s CPD scheme, you may include any IDM qualification hours on study, revision or exams during the year in which you register.

What do I do if my CPD hours are spread across dates in two years?
Simply allocate and enter the relevant hours to each individual year.
Do I need to submit hard copy evidence of my CPD activities?
There is no need to forward evidence of your CPD activities. However, a random sample of members and graduates are monitored each year, and the Institute may require supporting documentation to meet the evidence requirements of the CPD scheme. You should therefore keep copies of any certificates or papers which record that you have passed an examination, completed a course of study, attended a conference, and so on. Evidence will not be required for IDM professional qualifications, training, conferences and events.
