As a leading awarding body for marketers, the IDM is proud of its professional qualifications. Students around the world are offered a comprehensive portfolio from Awards through to Postgraduate Diplomas, with a choice of learning methods. Each syllabus reflects the latest in marketing with the aim of being practical and relevant from the start.

The IDM invests heavily in developing and improving its portfolio and this is facilitated mainly by an IDM Advisory Board, which works closely with the IDM qualifications department, content team and Exam Board. 

The mission of the Advisory Board is to:

  • maintain academic standards that differentiate the IDM from other marketing training organisations
  • develop constructively aligned curriculum, learning resources, content delivery platforms and assessment processes 
  • develop a range of qualifications and training products that meet the evolving needs of the profession

In practical terms, this means:

  • a world-class qualifications portfolio of face-face, online and blended learning courses, taught by practitioners not academics
  • stringent and fair assessment methods including written and online exams/assignments
  • a defined and robust process for approving and regularly reviewing teaching material (such as liaising with subject matter experts and industry leaders) to ensure it  is relevant, contemporary, engaging, informative

The IDM Advisory Board meets quarterly and feeds back strategic decisions and updates to the rest of the business.
