IDM Certificate in Digital and Data Driven Marketing
If you're studying an IDM accredited course at university or college, you can book to sit the 2-hour online exam to achieve this certificate, and if you pass, you'll gain a professional qualification that'll make you stand out to employers.
You can take the exam on 15 May 2024, 05 June 2024, 10 July 2024 or 20 November 2024.
The exam reflects the content covered in your course, so no extra study is needed. To book the exam, please select one of the options below.
Once booked, we'll also give you 12 months of free DMA Student Membership (usually £45), providing you with everything you need to jump out from the crowd and shine as a job applicant by:

If you're a DMA Student Member already, the exam will cost £80. To book, please email the IDM team on qualifications@theidm.com, stating the university you are at, the course you are studying, the exam date, and that you're a DMA Student Member and you'd like to book onto the exam for the IDM Certificate in Digital and Data Driven Marketing.

Qualification Information
The certificate is designed to:
- Give you the opportunity to gain a professionally recognised qualification whilst at university. On successful completion, you can use the honorific IDM Cert DDM
- Provide you with the knowledge that will help you hit the ground running in your first marketing job
- Give you a head-start on your professional learning journey
- Recognise the depth of teaching in digital and data driven marketing at universities, which are approved to offer the IDM exam
- Contribute to maintaining professional standards of digital and data driven marketing teaching within universities
The IDM Certificate in Digital and Data Driven Marketing exam is taking place online at IDM accredited study centres on the dates shown above. You are given two hours to complete the exam and we will send you the timing details nearer the time.
The IDM Certificate in Digital and Data Driven Marketing exam can only be taken by students studying an IDM accredited module at college or university.
To qualify for the Certificate exam, you must have completed all learning for the IDM Certificate in Digital and Data Driven Marketing at an accredited university/college. You will then be eligible to sit the exam which is written, marked and awarded by the IDM.
Who is eligible to take the course?
Students who are taking an IDM accredited university module. The accredited centres are listed above.
When must you register for this year's exam?
You must register for this year's exam 7 days before the scheduled date.
When are the exams?
The exam will take place on 15 May 2024, 05 June 2024, 10 July 2024 or 20 November 2024 .
Where do I take the exam?
The exam will take place online via your own account on the IDM's Online Learning Platform. You will get access to your account once you've booked and paid for the exam.
What is the cost of the exam?
£125 inc. VAT.
Will I get an honorific if I pass?
Of course, you will be able to use the honorific Cert DDM after your name.
What grade do I need to achieve a pass?
You will need to achieve a result of at least 60% to pass the exam.
What happens if I fail?
A re-sit date will be available and we will advise you of the date should you not pass the exam. The re-sit must be taken the same year.
What happens if I need to cancel?
If you cancel more than 14 days prior to the examination: 20% cancellation charge, less than 14 days: 100% cancellation charge
What happens if I am unable to sit the exam on the day?
If you are ill or have a bereavement, which means you are unable to sit the exam, you must inform the IDM as soon as possible on 020 3805 9713 or email qualifications@theidm.com.
